Redemption terms – Virtual In Karta (VIK)

• Download the Můj vlak (My Train) mobile app free of charge from the App Store or Google Play
  • Create a user account
  • Open the Můj vlak app and select “My Account” (or “More” on iOS)
  • Click “Create a new account”
  • Enter your personal details: first name, last name, and email address, then click “Continue”
  • You will receive a verification email from info@cd.cz
  • Open the email, click the verification link, and you will be redirected to complete your registration on the Czech Railways website
  • Set your password and choose preferences for receiving marketing communications from Czech Railways
  • Confirm by clicking “Complete registration”
  • Log in to the Můj vlak app using your email address and password
  • Create your Virtual In Karta (VIK) by selecting “Get a new Virtual In Karta” in the “My Account” section
  • Take a new selfie photo using your mobile phone or select an existing photo (you may crop and adjust it to meet ID photo requirements)
  • Enter your date and place of birth
  • Review the entered details, agree to the terms and conditions for issuing and using the Virtual In Karta, agree to the privacy policy, and set your preferences for receiving marketing communications
  • Complete the process by clicking “Create In Karta” and entering your registration password
  • The Virtual In Karta will initially be in “Unauthorised card” status. During your first train journey, you must present a valid ID to the conductor for verification. For subsequent journeys, no ID is required.
  • The Virtual In Karta is valid without any time limitation. You can purchase discount applications (e.g. IN 25, IN 50, IN 100, or a 1st class time-based upgrade) and single tickets. Discount applications and tickets can also be purchased while the card is still unauthorised.
  • When travelling, simply present your Virtual In Karta. The conductor’s device will automatically retrieve all purchased discount applications and tickets.
• Purchasing a discount application with a Visa discount code
  • Open the “Tickets” section in the Můj vlak app and click “Add application”
  • Select your preferred discount application, choose the variant (1 year or 3 years, if available), and set the start date
  • Confirm acceptance of the Czech Railways e-shop terms and click “+ Discount code, voucher or credit note”
  • Enter the discount code received from Visa and click “Verify code”
  • The price of the discount application will be reduced accordingly
  • Select a payment method and click “Pay”
• Authorisation of the Virtual In Karta
  • During your first train journey, present your ID card along with the Virtual In Karta to the conductor
  • The conductor will verify your details and authorise the card
  • For subsequent journeys, presenting an ID card is no longer required

Redemption terms – Plastic In Karta – ticket office

• The premium cardholder submits a completed In Karta application form together with a passport-size photograph
• Inform the clerk that you have a Visa discount code and will pay by payment card
• Application forms are available at any Czech Railways ticket office
• The clerk verifies the entered data, checks the applicant’s identity, and enters the details for card production
• The clerk enters the discount code provided by the applicant and visually checks the payment card
• If the presented card meets the required criteria, payment is processed; otherwise, the discount is not applied
• The customer receives a temporary card and collects the chip-based In Karta at the selected station within the period stated on the temporary card
• When purchasing an application for an existing In Karta, it is not necessary to submit a new application or provide a photograph.
• The 10% discount applies only to IN 100, IN 50, IN 25
  (IN 25 and IN 50 with a validity of 1 or 3 years; IN 100 with a validity of 1 year) and to the 1st class time-based upgrade (1-year validity), when the discount code is presented and payment is made using an eligible Visa Business or premium Visa card.
• The discount code can be used only once, regardless of where it is redeemed.

Redemption terms – Plastic In Karta – e-shop

  • Select the purchase of a new card or an application for an existing In Karta
  • For a new card, choose the application, category, variant, and first day of validity
  • Upload a photo, enter personal details, and accept the terms
    (for IN 100, you may enter details for issuing a tax document)
  • Select the station for collecting the chip-based In Karta and add the item to the cart
  • Click “Apply discount code, voucher or loyalty points” and enter the Visa discount code
  • Select payment by card, accept the terms, and complete payment using a Visa Business or premium Visa card
• For adding an application to an existing In Karta:
  • Enter the In Karta number and date of birth
  • Select the desired application, category, variant, and validity, and add it to the cart
  • Click “Apply discount code, voucher or loyalty points” and enter the discount code
  • Select card payment, accept the terms, and complete payment using a Visa Business or premium Visa card
• The 10% discount applies only to IN 100, IN 50, IN 25
  (IN 25 and IN 50 valid for 1 or 3 years; IN 100 valid for 1 year) and to the 1st class time-based upgrade (1-year validity), when the discount code is applied and payment is made with an eligible Visa card.
